Senior Geophysicist/Signal Processing
Think Outside is digitizing snow. We are developing innovative “Sknow” sensors coupled with machine learning to acquire data about snow that can impact people and industries. Our solutions range from sensors for skis that aim to detect snow conditions that may lead to avalanches, to sensor stations for renewable hydro-plant energy for safer and better reservoir surveillance.

We are increasing our G&G team and as a senior geophysicist/signal processing engineer you will....:
Advise on electronic design and testing
Participate to the testing and verification of the electronic and firmware
Process manually snow radar data to compute snow depth, snow water content and snow layers characteristic
Document results of the data processing
Develop matlab algorithms to process automatically the data
Write or contribute to scientific publications and snow science conferences
We are looking for you as you are:
An expert on signal processing
Have long experience and great track record with seismic data processing, radar or similar geo-spaced data
Excellent academic and scientific background
Have a bit of an entrepreneur in you, or would like to contribute in taking the petroleum industry to new use and new markets
A lover of the outdoors, a personal interest in snow and snowsports makes you just perfect!
M.Sc. or higher in Physics, Geophysics or Digital Processing
Experience with digital signal processing and matlab
Experience with embedded systems for high-rate sensor systems, e.g. seismic, radar, ultrasound, or video.
Experience with RF design principles.
Knowledge of high performance and low power design techniques
Experience with C and C++
Familiar with digital design flow, including coding and simulation
Great focus and attention to detail, an organized personality
Strong data and quantitative skills
The position reports to CTO and works closely with Head of Research
Fluent in English and preferably knowledgeable in Norwegian
Working in a start-up environment as you have an entrepreneurial mindset and problem-solving mentality
Offices in Bergen and Oslo
